3AYO ("we," "us," "our") is a child development tracking and memory journal service designed for parents and guardians of children aged 0-7. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

About the Parent/Guardian:

Email address and password (for account creation)
Parent mood/wellbeing check-ins (optional, self-reported)

About the Child:

First name
Date of birth
Developmental focus areas (e.g., speech, motor skills)
Activities and their frequency
Developmental milestones achieved
Journal entries (text, photos, emotions)

3. How We Use This Information

To generate a personalised Brain Blueprint showing cognitive development
To provide weekly activity suggestions tailored to your child's age and focus areas
To display age-appropriate developmental milestones based on CDC guidelines
To maintain a memory journal of your child's moments and achievements
To generate weekly recap summaries of journal entries

4. AI Processing & Third-Party Sharing

Important: AI-Powered Features

3AYO uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate personalised recommendations. When generating your child's Brain Blueprint, weekly activity suggestions, or journal recaps, we send your child's age and developmental datato Anthropic's servers for processing.

We minimise the data shared: we send your child's age (not their name), focus areas, activities, and — for weekly recap generation — journal entry text (notes, quotes, milestones you've logged). Anthropic processes this data according to their Privacy Policy under their commercial terms. For details on Anthropic's data handling, contact privacy@3ayo.com.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising. Beyond Anthropic for AI processing, we use Vercel for hosting and analytics (anonymous page view data only, no personal information), and Supabase for secure data storage. We do not share data with any other third parties.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR)

3AYO is designed for parents and guardians — not for children to use directly. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the UK/EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regarding children's data.

We require parental consent before collecting any child data
Parents can review, export, or delete all child data at any time via Settings
We collect only data necessary to provide the service
By using 3AYO, you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian of the child

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access — review all data we hold about your child (via Settings)
Rectify — correct or update your child's information (via Settings)
Delete — permanently delete all data for a child (via Settings → Delete Data)
Export — download your data in a machine-readable format
Withdraw consent — stop data processing by deleting your account

7. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS)
Photos are stored in Supabase Storage with access controls
Row-level security (RLS) ensures users can only access their own data
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text

8. Data Retention

We retain your child's data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a child's profile or your account, all associated data (journal entries, milestones, blueprints, photos) is permanently and irreversibly deleted.

9. Not Medical Advice

3AYO provides general developmental guidance based on peer-reviewed research. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose conditions, and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult your paediatrician with specific concerns about your child's development.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of 3AYO after changes constitutes acceptance.
